![]() So far, though she at times doubted herself, she has been able to conquer almost any obstacle or hardship - even death. ![]() I found Keira and her friends’ abilities to be engaging, though I did stop to wonder what Keira isn’t capable of doing. Lindsay did an admirable job of mixing her genres and researching her facts. I have read a variety of non-fiction novels regarding Salem, but never a fiction novel that takes on a perspective such as this. I have always enjoyed learning about the Salem witchcraft trials (as morbid as they may have been) and American culture during that time period. ![]() I was very fond of the historical aspect of “Bloodlines”, which is what originally lead me to this novel. The audience was provided with extensive background knowledge, which is something new authors generally overlook. I appreciate the time and effort that Kendal spent constructing intriguing characters and an elaborate plot. “Bloodlines” definitely delivered in the realm of originality. I continue to be amazed with upcoming authors and their ability to disengage from the more common and exhausted storylines that afflict YA, paranormal fiction. ![]()
